Leaving for Royal Solaris on 7/27. My daughter really wants to swim with dolphins. Does anyone know best place to go and if you need reservations. Also, best way to get oceanfront and balcony at RS or any helpful info on that hotel. Wondering also if alot of theft in Cancun-are travelers checks good idea?

Hi Sandy, Please read this before you make your reservations, then decide. Thanks, Rick
best, imho because they are more involved with their animals, is Dolphin Discovery. www.dolphindiscovery.com
i would not be concerned with theft in Cancun. that said, if you feel more comfortable using Traveler's checks, go for it. i would advise that if you plan on using your CC, that you call your CC company before you leave to let them know when and where you are going. then call them when you are back to let them know you are back and review charges. tim

Can you tell me what the difference between dolphindiscovery and the dolphin swim at Xel-Ha? Is it the same place or two different places? Also, if you go to Xel-Ha is it one price to get in and than you pay for each different activity or do you have to go place to place for each thing? Thanks for your help in this.
In addition to paying admission for xel-ha the dolphin swim is 90.00 more. They also have the swim at wet n wild (parque nizuc) for 90.00. They were both almost the same except the dolphins jump over the people in xel-ha. I would definitely make reservations before you go, they get booked up quickly. It's a fantastic experience!
Dolphin Discovery has three locations: Cozumel, Isla Mujeres and Puerto Aventuras. Isla would be closest to your Cancun hotel.
The dolphin swims at Xel-Ha and Xcaret are run by a different company. In any case, the encounter is extra and slots are limited (as already mentioned, it's best to reserve in advance).
Xel-Ha has two pricing options: Basic and All-Inclusive. Neither one includes the dolphin swim. If you're going to spend the whole day, the All-Inclusive option might make more sense. You can find the admission info at:
