my family and i stayed at barcelo in june of last year. for ages we had all had this picture of paradise in our heads and Barcelo matched it! every little detail was taken care of, the food variety and taste were fantastic, the staff and crew were so hard working and friendly, and the overall terrain and site was spectacular! the beach and the water were gorgeous and the weather was amazing. my brother was severly sunburned on our second day, and so off we went to the resort doctor who was amazing and checked up on my brother a few days later.
the pools were the most spectacular thing that you have ever seen! the water was so warm and inviting and felt so tropical as the latin music played around the pool. in the pool there were snorkel and scuba lessons, dance lessons (on deck), water aerobics and swim up bars. this alone makes it a 5-star resort!
the rooms and views were amazing and the walkways through the resort were lush with tropical plants and animals. there were a lot of mosquitos there, so make sure you bring or buy repellent. the shops inside were cute, and convenient if you run out of sun block or, as we found out, mosquito repellent.
we were there a long time ago, but we all agree that we left our hearts behind. it was so beautiful and so wonderful and we can't wait to go back again!!
