First time to Aventura Palace.Went with my mom and sister.The ride from airport was long as it takes about an hour, however the van was comfortable and there was only one other couple so we weren't on top of each other.As we arrived I was awestruck.Champaigne is poured while you check in and inside the lobby is a beautiful open ceiling courtyard where drinks are served along with live entertainment at night.We enjoyed the band that played Tues., Thurs. and Sat.There was construction, however we were't roomed near it so it didn't bother us.The couple that arrived with us were and they simply requested another room and were accomidated with no problem.Our room was comfortable even for 3 people.Mind you we didn't spend that much time in the room anyway.The lagoon is awesome.I tried snorkeling and was glad I did.My sister and I came across all kinds of critters from starfish to urchens, etc.We would start our sunning by the lagoon so as to get that salt water in our hair and sand in our toes and then in after lunch venture to the pool.What a beautiful pool too and so long and winding.Excellant exercise.Love that swim-up bar.Lots of pool activities and the people are so wonderful.Service at the beach and pool are very convenient.Those girls really hussle.There's even bicycle rental and you can ride to Puerto Aventuras just by following the sidewalks and paths.The food was outstanding every day and those folks really put in some time.The presentation is what strikes you and then there's the decision since there's so many dishes to select.We liked that you could take a container back to your room or wherever for munching.We ventured away from the resort to Playa de Carmen via cab and had a blast spending money at the shops.Dickering for sales is what they want you to do and dicker we did.My sister even made a purchase by giving up her baseball cap.Geting a cab is no problem and the cabbies that we dealt with were very nice.One evening after the band finished we went into Playa again to Captain Titux and the cabbie walked us to the bar since he couldn't drop us on the same street.And that kind gentleman actually waited 4 hours for our return and safely took us back to the resort.Needless to say we tipped him generously.Tipping is not necessary at the resort, but I'll tell you a good majority of those folks are working 2 jobs plus going to school and have to ride a bus for hours to get to and from work so yes we did tip in the bars especially since you're not exactly helping yourself.Service in general is superb and learned from one of the gals how to make a towel swan which you'll find in your room and in every restroom which are very clean by the way.Once back home it took awhile to remember to flush since everything is automatic at the resort including the faucets.This was the first vacaction ever for my mother and she is looking forward to returning; hopefully with my father next time.I hope the Aventura keeps their Adult only policy as that was the main attraction for our selecting the resort.Total sun and relaxation with lots of pampering is what we wanted and that's what we got.
