We were at the Barcelo Maya Garden the week of 2/4/00 - 2/11/00. We thought it was great. There was plenty to eat and drink at all hours of the day and night--it was kind of like a cruise on the beach that also included the alcohol. The beach was fabulous and they had two huge pools with swim-up bars. There were plenty of lounge chairs, both at the pools and the beach. There was great snorkeling left of the pier and at the northern and southern points of the bay. There were plenty of activities for all ages. Trips to Tulum and Playa del Carmen were easy to arrange on your own and not far away. There were other places we will visit next time--Xel-Ha, Xcaret, and others.
