Day 1
Hubby and I left at 6:20am, arrived Newark by 6:45 and US Air took off right on time at 7:50. We arrived Cancun by 12:40pm, everything went quick and we got the green light! We were at the Flamingo by 1:45. At check in we asked to be upgraded and they gave us room 501 which was at the end of the hall with 2 double doors, only 2 rooms through the doors. It was oceanview and a view of the smaller pool, with a King size bed, it was very nice! We didn't even change into bathing suits because it was cloudy out so we went down for lunch. After lunch we went to Coral Negro, Forum by the Sea and the Flamingo Mall. We came back 6, went to the lobby bar for a drink and met the best waitress we've ever met- Julie. Went up, relaxed, got ready and went to dinner at 7:30. We ordered off the menu, seafood in a sauce, shrimp dinner and a club sandwich, all very good. Met another dynamite waiter- Miguel, gave me Flan every night to take upstairs! We were tired and went up at 10:30. The TV antenna was broke and there was a maintenance guy next door fixing the lock for room 500. Hubby went to ask to fix our TV, said he'll be right back. When he left, hubby switched TV's and told the manager. When the maintenance guy came back he told my husband he wasn't following rules & regulations, lol. Went to use remote and there wasn't any so hubby had to go to the front desk, brought 1 up and it didn't work, had to go down for another. It was late already and time for sleep!
Day 2-
Woke up at 8:15 and down for breakfast by 9. We had omlettes which were very good and then I had the French Toast which was excellent!! Went to the pool and beach for awhile but then it got cloudy by 12. Had lunch at the pool which wasn't great then went up for showers (showers didn't come out full force). Went to La Isla for awhile then back to lobby bar by 4. We were sitting at the bar getting ready to order a drink when a roach went running by, that was it for me, lol! Made hubby go to the other bar to get me a drink and then played cards at the table. Went to dinner at 5:30, ordered same thing from menu, then cappuccino & flan. Went upstairs to relax awhile then to Flamingo Mall again. Came back, got more coffee & flan and then up to sleep hoping for a sunny tomorrow.
Day 3-
Gorgeous sunny day! Went down for breakfast at 9 then stayed at pool & beach. Went to lunch at restaurant on beach, had chicken fajitas and quesadillas, very good. Went up at 4 to get ready for dinner. We met a guy Gilbert who was there with a group but came by himself. We all went to Plaza Caracol & Coral Negro (I think my husband is ready to kill me with all this shopping)! Got back to hotel 11:00, restaurant was closing but they let us in, had more coffee & flan plus extra to bring back up!
Day 4 -
Woke up late today, 10:45 and hubby was too sun-burned to lay out. Went down for breakfast and then off to Kukulcan Mall! Came back to the lobby by 4, had a few drinks and then went to dinner at 5:30. We went up to pack at 7 then went back to the lobby bar at 11:30. Our friend Gilbert was so drunk that I had to hide his drink and my husband had to drag him to the elevator to bring him to bed. He had to be up at 5:30am for an early morning flight back home. We finally got to bed by 2 with the alarm set for 9:30.
Day 5-
We never heard our alarm and got up at 10:45. We got into our bathing suits and and brought our luggage down. Went to the restaurant and they gave us coffee to go. Went to the pool and stayed there until 1:40, went for lunch and then to shower for our 3:00 pick up. Got to the airport by 3:25 and our plane took off on time at 4:35. We had a wonderful time but don't think we'd go back there again unless we got another really fantastic deal!
