We just returned from a 4 night/5 day trip to the Aventura Palace. We have been lots of places in the Caribbean and Cancun, and this is by far the nicest, most luxurious place we have ever stayed. The hotel was only about 25% occupied, so please keep that in mind when I say that the service was excellent. We never had to wait for anything. I imagine that if the hotel were full, it would be a little slower.
We stayed in room 3375. The view was of the garden. The hammock was great. The jacuzzi in the room was even better. Word of caution: don't go crazy with the bubble bath, only use a little. We had bubbles everywhere. There is a little fridge in the room that is stocked with water, sodas, and beer. Makes it very nice. The bath has a Large shower, great for 2 people.
The resteraunts were excellent. We ate the buffet out by the pool every morning. There were so many selections, and all great. For lunch, we ate at the grill by the pool. Loved the guacamole! At night we ate at La Hacienda twice, both nights were wonderful. The Spa Palace is connected and we ate there 2 nights. One night in the Japanese place, and one night in the Mediterranean place. I could not get over the selections and how good the food was. Nothing was bad.
The pool was very pretty, but the water was a bit chilly when we were there. The beach is fairly non-existant, but the manmade lagoon was nice and pretty. Lots of people were in it, but we did not get in. The paddle boats looked like fun. There are plenty of chairs and palapas for shade all over the place. And the beach waiters/waitresses are all wonderful. We never had to ask for a drink, they were always coming by to check on you. I loved the strawberry daquiries and the Madori Sours and my husband loved the Bahama Mamas.
We did have one small problem: the cold water went out on our shower. I called down to the front desk, and within 5 minutes, a man from maintanence was there and had it fixed. He was actually apologizing for not being there sooner. I could not get over how wonderful they were.
We went to the Spa Palace for "treatments" one day. My husband had the body scrub and back massage. I had the body scrub, back massage, and facial. It was truly a pampering experience. The Spa Palace is a wonderful place, and staying at Aventura gives you both to use.
This was truly a luxury resort with everything that went with it. Great food, great service, entertainment....what more could you ask for. We will definitely be going back, maybe for a longer stay. We are spoiled by this resort, and I am afraid we will be constantly comparing it to any new places we may go.
