Great Trip. My wife and I were guests of members who own a "Time Share" type membership for the Palace Resorts. We stayed in a 2 bedroom Suite (called Presidentail Suite) located on the 2nd floor. For future reference ...the 3rd floor has the best view, because the palm trees sometimes blook the view on the 2nd. The meals were very good. The mixed drinks were great. Not a beer drinker, but only 1 flavor of beer was on site. The water was so comfortable. I bet the summer months are very hot. Other than dinner where you need slacks for guys and slacks or dresses for girls, no fancy clothes were needed. Not even when you went off site to visit Cosumel or Puerto Aventura. If you stay at the Aventura Palace, go next door to the community of Puerto Aventura. Really nice. Very quaint. Swim with Dophins or Manatees. Bicycle over from the Palace Retsort at no cost. Cosumel was really nice. Ferry from Puerto Aventura runs ~ 9:30 am and returns ~6:30 pm through AquaWorld. While in Cosumel you can snorkel, scuba or ride on the "Glass-bottom boats".
Don't miss a visit to Xpu-Ha another Palace Resort about 10 minutes south. Awesome snorkeling at no cost and scuba for professionals or novices at modest $. The instructions for a rookie were excellent and within 1.5 hrs. we were scuba diving in 30 feet of water. Excellent exprience with scuba. Highly recommend it.
