we are back we left april 21 to the 28 and i have to tell you we were in paradise ..the report is for the people that have read all the other reports and have heard the worst... the plane was great the airport was great (i was scared of all the horror stories) and our reps were where they were supposed to be. we took the van to the copa and see may resorts along the way.. our hotel is beautiful jungle setting and smaller than some i have seen but big enough .. we were booked in quickly and the bags followed with in half a hour and we reserved for a king bed and got it..
ok the beds are hard i will adimit but we never lost sleep let me tell you.. the rooms are clean as a whistle and beautiful we had swans and doves made out of towels with flowers on them..everything is tile and rock. the main lobby was beautiful with water falls and a pool table and bar this is where your main buffet and italian and mexican rest was and i have to admit they were very good..you will have to reserve do so as soon as possible..
food was excellent from pizza to bugers and salads, pasta, hot dogs fries,fruit, ice cream for lunch..
dinner was: roast beef, roast chicken, lobester, made to order pasta bar, pizza salads, meats, cheezes,fruit, man i could go on for ever and desserts well heaven was all i could say.. trust me we ate like pigs and never gained a pound i was impressed...
the pools are clean and beautiful and the area is nice lounge chairs are plenty and hamacks are really nice for night relaxing..there is no swim up bar but a big on right near the pool..you ate lunch out by the pool and dinner in the lobby the beach was beautiful and clean at night it was mowed ( i laughed i have never seen a mowed sand) the ocean was clean no rocks .. robinson club was to our right and looked nice but really rocky and bareclo was to the left looked nice too but very very big too big for me..
the only thing i didnt like was they close the pool at 6 to clean it i thought it was kinda early .. the entertinment was great at the pool and at night shows and live bands i liked it and did 500 other people ..they were funny and entertaining..the area for kids was great there own pool and hut and play park.. there were a few kids there..the property is long yes but not as long as you think..maybe a 10 min walk for the main lobby steps to the beack front..
the only problem we had was the phone call we asked before we called and still got charged direct so i complanined ok i yelled and screamed and ended up not paying which i shouldnt have in the first place .. other than that we would go back again and agian...
we went to pdc and took the local bus very easy to catch outside of your hotel on the road 10 peao' per person and they come every 20 min 8 am to 8:30 pm.. we went 2x and shopped and bardered loved every moment of it went to senoir frogs ect.. very poor town but cute and authentic..
went to xel ha love it would take a local bus next time instead of the tour companys way cheaper..and you can take your time..
went to tulum too and it was nice but very hot about 39 too hot to really enjoy it i thought..
the ride home was wonderful and we are dreaming about the next time we go again..
lessons i learned dont be scared to do anything its very easy there and take the local bus its very easy and cheaper to do.. it will take you anywhere.. take lots of film batterys suntan lotion (50 or higher for the first couple of days)and money you will need it
