There seems to be only positive comments listed in their own website. If mine doesn't show up there, I will know why.
I looked forward to our stay here with more enthusiasm than all of the rest of our 2 weeks in the Yukitan. It sounded like heaven itself. We payed by pay pal as instucted for a 4 person (2 double) ocean view, private bath and notified staff of our late arrival from Merida. "no problem, a note made in our file" was answered. We arrived about 5:00 and after a very long wait were informed that there was a mess up and our room wasn't available. There were 2 cabanas available (1 double each)we could have for the same price... No compensation, discount, sincere effort to do anything about it....just take it or leave it. There was a community bath (very disgusting looking) and one cabana with a floor and 1 without (adding up to the same price for the original one). We had 2 girls (10 and 15) with us. These cabanas were not close. One was quickly being cleaned of a guests belongings after a
"fast departure"...it was a dump. Beer cans all over. There was no privacy in the rooms, padlock doors, and the clientel and "staff" looked like something from the 60's. I had a sick feeling and was not going to leave my girls away from us in a place like that. Nor was my husband going to sleep with one and I the other. We asked for our money back in american dollars, not mexican, and headed down the road to look for something much better. We found a much nicer hotel room with their last room at only a little more. We were lucky to have found it.
Take this for what you will. We think it was planned this way gambling that they would have a sell out with us settling for what was left. I would never recommend it unless you want to go where the college age kids go to just hang out for the summer. Not a family set up at all.
