Just spent four days at the Grand Oasis Hotel in Cancun. I thought the hotel was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was wonderful (did not smell musty) and the food was great. La Gallera was the best restaurant at the resort. No problems with rowdy patrons, theft, rude staff, etc. The pool was awesome, and most restuarants have outside seating facing the shoreline. I'm sure my trip report would be different had I gone during spring break. My advice is to avoid the spring break period and you'll have a great time.
