it is a lovely place with a lovely beach. Our rooms where on the 11th floor smack in the middle. 1148 and 1150.. the view was awesome.

The people at the hotel are sweet and friendly.. all around

The food was OKAY... not bad ... just okay

We visited the Moon and the Aventura. Their food was much better. The Moon is gorgeous. The Aventura is very pretty but quite far. Though for adults wishing peace and quiet... that is where you should be. I loved the "afternoon high tea" at the Aventura!!!!

Restaurants: Bogarts, Lorenzillos and Pericos.. I enjoyed all

My kids had a blast at Coco Bongo.

I loved the Fiesta Americana Coral. If I were staying downtown Cancun/Ocean... that is where an adult would enjoy more peace and quiet.

Cancun Palace has a very high percentage of teens in groups. They become loud at night. The hotel dishes out alcohol to anyone... there are these little machines with pina coladas and daiquieries (self serve slush at cocktail hour) WITH alcohol. Your 8 year old could go up and pour some .. they do taste delicious.. you just need to monitor if you have young ones.

Overall it was a beautiful trip. I would not return to the Cancun Palace (as an adult who wants a more tranquil atmoshpere). I would go to the Moon/Aventura.

I checked out the Beach and Sun and would NOT even dream of staying at either.. beach maybe with little ones.. but still would rather spend a couple of hundred extra and stay at the other palaces.
