The computer models now are showing Louisiana and Texas to take a second hit from hurricane Ike. This is all too similar to Katrina and Rita a few years ago giving us the double whammy. The people in Ascension have it really rough, as to many of the people in Baton Rouge. We hear that some of them will not have power back for 3-5 weeks, and if we get another hurricane it will be even longer.

I was doing a repair to my storage building yesterday and I had to stand in lines behind people who were buying more hurricane provisions for this coming weekend. I thought they were being a bit premature until I saw the new models. There is not a room sized A/C unit to be found. Many people in this area have them to cool off a sleeping area.
