Wow!!! This is nuts! The forecast models are all totally different. In the past I have always depended on the Naval Observatory as my favorite (light blue line) and the one I think is most dependable. In this case that would put it going toward New Orleans or the coast of Mississippi in a Katrina like path. That would be good for us, but not so good for them.

Another good model is usually the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Lab (Pink/Magenta LIne)and they seem to be showing it going more toward Houston/Galveston in a Rita like past.That would be better for New Orleans, but worse for the entire state because it would damage the Houston to Lake Charles area. That would really spread thin the people who are here to help put things back together after Gustav.

By the way, I think that the National Hurricane Center uses the BAMD model. I don't know if it is their model, or if they prefer it. BAMD is the Beta and Advection model, deep model. I think that NOAA uses HWRF (Dark green line)
