What is a Cenote?

Cenotes are natural freshwater pools with underground caves and caverns, formed because of the porous limestone ground that makes up the Yucatan. Cenote Snorkeling

Cenotes are found in only a few locations on earth and the world's capital is the Yucatan Peninsula. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the splendor and the awe inspiring magnificence of the Cancun Cenotes. This is an experience you will never forget. Keep in mind that the stalactites (hanging down) and the stalagmites (rising up) take over 100 YEARS to form 1/4 of an inch!

The water which fills the caves today is partly saltwater, but mainly fresh rainwater. Because of the difference in density and weight, saltwater and fresh water do not mix. The fresh water rises to the top, causing an oily shimmer called the "halocline," and is a natural effect of the mixture of the two water systems.

The Cancun area is a haven for adventure-seekers looking for new challenges and places to explore. NO ONE ELSE OFFERS THIS TOUR!
