Beautiful and Exciting Xcaret
Private Tours to Xcaret with Tulum Ruins Option from the Riviera Maya

Tulum, Mexico is the only archeological zone in the area overlooking the ocean and is believed to have been the largest port for the Mayans. Combine this rich history with the natural beauty of Xcaret, Mexico and you have a tour you will never forget.

For more than a millennium, Xcaret, Mexico was one of the most important ceremonial centers and Mayan ports. Xcaret was and still is the 5 star resort for the Mayan rulers.

You and your group go directly from your hotel to the Mayan ruins of Tulum and then to Xcaret Mexico or just to Xcaret if you prefer (select which tour you prefer below).

The private tours are for your group only and therefore you plan the day. I just make suggestions. Private tours will save your family about 2.5 hrs compared to the public tour. This time can be used to explore more or sleep in a bit.

There is NO public Tulum/Xcaret tour available.

We are the ONLY company to combine these two great tours.

All Tulum and Xcaret Mexico tours include:
    Xcaret Mexico tours
  • Air-conditioned private transportation exclusively for your group
  • English speaking driver
  • All toll road and parking fees, entrance fees & taxes for Xcaret Mexico (and Tulum if you select that tour)
  • Note: there is a small federal fee for video cams at Tulum
  • Entrance fee at Xcaret includes: Night show, Butterfly Pavilion, Aviary, Swim in the underground rivers (use of padlocked bag for safe keeping your personal belongings & life vest). Showers, beach chairs and hammocks. Tropical reef aquarium, Botanical garden, orchids, mushrooms & turtle farm. Museum, Mammals islands, Bat Cave, jaguars, guided tour of the caverns and the Mayan village. Daytime shows at the theater, museum and main avenue & night show (no food or drinks). Night show includes the ball game, a live theater show with the flyers from Papantla, Veracruz. The show starts at 7:15 pm, finishes at 9:20 pm, back to Cancun between 10:15 & 10:30 pm. (winter hours show starts & finishes one hour earlier).
Itinerary for Tulum/Xcaret tours:
    Tulum Mexico tours
  • Hotel pick up is up to you but I suggest 7-8 am.
  • Arrive into Tulum about 90 minutes later.
  • Spend 1.5 to 2 hrs in Tulum.
  • Drive back to Xcaret takes 30-40 minutes.
  • Set pick up time with driver (before or after the show).
  • Once in Tulum you can hire a guide for around $30 usd for a 90 minute tour or just wonder around on your own. If you spend 2 hrs there it is plenty of time.
  • In between Tulum and Xcaret you can stop to shop, eat at a small restaurant or go directly to Xcaret.
  • Then to Xcaret where you can swim/snorkel, float down the underground river, walk through the jungle, eat, drink or relax in a hammock.

Optional activities (extra charge): Swim w/dolphins, Snuba, snorkeling tour & snorkel equipment. 5 restaurants where you enjoy Mexican, International or fast food. Food & beverages are not included. Many people ask us if there is an all inclusive option - sorry, it isn't offered by Xcaret.

Why choose a private tour? The advantage of Private transportation is time! With the Public Tour transportation you are picked at around 7-7:30 am from your hotel in a van and from there you go to other hotels picking others up. After that, you go to a check in area. You then depart on the bus between 8:15 – 8:30 am and arrive in Xcaret around 10 am. With Private Transportation, on average you will save about 2.5 hrs and get an extra 1 hr in the park. You beat all those tour buses getting to the park. In addition, the vehicle and your driver are dedicated exclusively for your group.

The public transportation is very good quality but they deal with the masses. The regular price in Cancun Hotel for public transportation including Xcaret entrance fee is $99 usd per person. I offer the private Xcaret tour for the same price of $99 p/p for 2, and less when there are more people in your group.

And remember, there is no public tour that combines Tulum and Xcaret!

FAQ's about Tulum and Xcaret

What should we bring?
Walking shoes that might get wet, a hat, camera, extra t-shirt, biodegradable sun screen, sunglasses, swim suit, money for shopping and tips.

What kind of vehicle do we get? Does it have seats, insurance?
All vehicles have a/c. If you are less than 4 adults or a family of 4 we use a car and for 4 adults or more we use a van or a suburban. The van holds 10 passengers. ALL passengers must have a seat belt. Therefore if you are 10 adults & 6 children you would need 2 vehicles. Vehicles must have Federal highway insurance & passenger insurance by law. If we are caught without it they take the vehicle. I can't speak for all companies but, the price of insurance is nothing compared to losing your vehicle.

Is there a deposit? What are the cancellation policies?
Yes, $10 per Adult and $5 per child. The cancellation policy is before 12 noon the day before the trip. WHY? Because we need to book the vehicle for the day. If we wait till 3 pm the day before to cancel the vehicle will have lost out doing services the next day. That is not fair to us or the driver who lives on tips. If cancelled in time, a full refund will be issued that day. I have the most flexible policy in Cancun PLUS you do not pre-pay in full. More information is available on the reservation pages for Xcaret or Xcaret & Tulum

Do we go to a check in area first?
No. You are picked up from your hotel and taken directly to the Tulum or Xcaret entrance gates and dropped off at your hotel lobby on the way back.

Who do we pay the balance to?
Directly to the driver on the day of the tour in CASH ONLY. If you want to pay more than the deposit today, please go ahead and send me an e-mail letting me know you have. I do ask for 3% sur-fee to cover my credit card expense for payments in full.

How do you determine who is a Child?
Xcaret and Xel-ha have changed the way they determine who is a child and who is an adult. It used to be by age (5 yrs - 12 yrs old was a child, under 5 was free). They now determine entrance by height (40" - 55" tall is a child, under 40" tall is free). Anyone over 55", even if they are under 12 yrs old, is considered an adult.
